2018 Dates

After meeting your instructor, quick introductions to your climbing partners and a check of gear you'll be introduced to the equipment you'll be using.  the approach walk to the crag, which usually takes 10-20 mins, takes you through spectacular forest scenery beside a cascading river which provides the backdrop for your day.  On the way your instructor will introduce you to some of the lesser known sites and sounds of this enchanting area.

On arrival at the crag (that's climber speak for cliff!) your instructor will help you choose the perfect routes and set up the ropes for you to get going.  You'll learn how to fit a harness and helmet, move on the rock comfortably and efficiently and to belay (use ropes to keep a climber safe).  As the day progresses you can up the challenge with tougher routes (climbs) or try your hand at abseiling (descending a rope).  

By the end of the day you may be feeling muscles you didn't know existed or have some pics from places you never thought possible.  what ever you end up with we're confident it'll be with a smile on your face!

What you need to know

Your climbing experience will meet at Shaugh Bridge Car Park, nr Shaugh Prior, Plymouth PL7 5EH.  There is no charge for parking here however there is a voluntary payment scheme which goes to the upkeep of the area and the national park.  There are no other facilities at this location.

you will need to arrive by 1000 to meet your instructor.  if you are running late give us a call so we know not to leave without you!

What you need to bring

You will need to bring a few essentials to keep you safe and happy during your adventure.   other items will enhance your adventure but are optional.  Check out our guides to various kit items if you aren't too sure or contact us for advice.

At the start of the adventure we will likely have a check of your kit just to make sure its going to keep you safe and happy.  We will provide all specialist and safety equipment
